One interesting provision of the Sport Pilot rule is that is allows Sport Pilots to fly "standard" category aircraft as long as those aircraft have continually met the requirements of an LSA since their original certification. Its original configuration, when it was built and certificated, had to meet the current LSA requirements. Some people find this rule confusing, but it really isn't.

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum was founded in and is a non-profit organization whose mandate is to acquire, document, preserve and maintain a complete collection of aircraft that were flown by Canadians and the Canadian military from the beginning of World War II to the present. The machine that made the first successful flight in a heavier-than-air powered aircraft may be the most important airplane of all time.
There exist a surprising number of classic and antique airplanes that are available for restoration. Each has an antique section in addition to other sections such as Aeronca, Citabria, Piper, Stearman, Waco, etc. They offer a large number of flying aircraft, projects, parts and services for all models of airplanes. This is probably the best place to start.
These listings a re grouped by states and in alphabetical order—a two letter post office abbreviation is used for the state in the address. There are quite a few military bases that have excellent aviation displays and, since they require either a military ID or an escort, so I have not included these.
